tz0bHey Friends —

Super fun updates on the way!

My new Corinth Bible study has a title and cover {squeal} and next week I’m heading out of town the country for some official “field research.” Yippee!

Whereas, I’m not allowed to share the book cover on social media yet, my publisher has given me permission to share it in my monthly newsletter. Do you currently receive my newsletter? If not, sign up here to get one of the first “sneak peeks” at this new project. (I hope to send the newsletter out on 3/14) Woo Hoo!

So I’m wondering when was the last time your face turned beet-red?

A few weeks ago, I was interviewed on WBCL’s Mid-morning radio show.

I always love sharing my story and passion for Jesus, plus I’m super excited to be teaching Red Hot Faith at the Renew Women’s Conference in Ohio next month (the ministry who sponsored this radio interview). I was thrilled for this opportunity!

Except, let’s be honest, live interviews make me nauseous and want to hide under my covers.

Snow Day!

Not to mention, when I agreed on this interview date and time, I would not have known it would be a snow day, meaning all of my four lovely children were home.

When it was time to call in for the live radio interview, I was huddled in a corner in my son Benj’s room—the quietest spot in the house I could find. I left notes and warnings to my children to not pester their mom, but between the naughty dog, loud snowblowers echoing throughout my neighborhood, and my overly energetic children–I was mentally prepared for interruptions and distractions.

I was prayed up and ready to discuss my personal story, my Bible study Red Hot Faith, and, of course, what I was most looking forward to at the Renew Women’s Conference. But I wasn’t prepared for one simple question—

“Cindy, what Bible passage/verse is speaking to you these days?”

Seems like an easy enough question, right? Especially for a Bible teacher. Unfortunately I shared the first thought in my head….

My answer:  1 Cor 6:18 — Flee from sexual immorality.

Oh good grief.

I’m sure my face turned many shades of red as I tried to get myself out of that one.

It’s true—1 Corinthians 6:18 is what I’ve been researching, teaching and sharing—but I just kept thinking,

“Oh Lord, why can’t I be normal? Why couldn’t I pick John 3:16 or Psalm 23 or John 10:10? Why must I bring up sexual immorality on live radio? Why?”

sitelogoYou can listen to the radio message . My segment starts at 32:45ish.

Please ignore my crazy nervous laugh, & remember the questions were not predetermined, so this was all what came to my mind and spilled out while I was crouched on cold tile in Benj’s bathroom.

The Renew Conference planning committee is amazing, & I sense it’s going to be a red-hot day! Details: .

I promise we will not be talking about fleeing from sexual immorality!

Your turn, sweet friend. When was the last time your face turned beet-red? I’d love to hear from you!
