Happy Fall y’all! Don’t forget to check out my Fall Family Fun from A to Z here . Enjoy!
Hey Friends –
I’m home today with a horrible sore throat and no voice. Ugh!
I’ve been sent by my family to a private room (as to not spead my germs), so it’s a perfect time to fill you in on what we’ve been up to this September. I’ve missed you all!
Here’s what I’ve been up to – ministry, family, and marriage!
Ministry Updates
You may remember that I’m taking a break from teaching a weekly Bible study. Whereas I sure miss seeing my beautiful friends each week, I’ve enjoyed saying “yes” to more outside speaking events this season. In September I had a blast sharing at the Allegan County Fair, and always love being able to speak with MOPS moms too. Yay!
Next weekend I’ll be at the Grand Hotel at Mackinac Island teaching Red Hot Faith. Yippee!
You can also check out my speaking schedule here. I’d love for our paths to cross this fall!
How’s the Bible Study Red Hot Faith: Lessons From A Lukewarm Church coming (the sessions I filmed this Spring in Turkey (recap here)?? It’s getting closer – how exciting!!
I’ll be back at RBC Ministries soon to work on some of the “voice overs”, and will give you more “sneak peeks” as soon as I have them!
They’re also working on the “Red Hot Faith” official design cover – I’ll be sure to keep y’all “in the loop”. I appreciate your prayers and support more than you know! Please keep “praying down the tracks“.
In case you haven’t seen this little trailer, here are some highlights from the Red Hot Faith study…
Family
Although the transition for my eldest son Jake to leave the house for college was extremely hard for me (as you may remember) – I’m transitioning ok these days. I haven’t melted down on my bathroom floor in over a month. Whew!
Next weekend is Jake’s first weekend as a college goalie. How fun! (Pic below Jake is on far left). Can’t wait to cheer the AQ saints on this season! Woo Hoo!
Thankfully we haven’t had any new incidents of “fat talk” and/or bullying with my kids lately. Their teachers have been amazing, and I’ve been busy arming myself with new resources and strategies.
Thanks for all of your kind notes, as well as sharing so authentically how your family has been impacted. Y’all bless me more than you know!
Marriage
Lastly, I’m so in love with my man I can barely stand it!
If you’re in a hard place in your marriage (like we have been – recap here!), please keep praying and don’t give up. God is a Master Restorer and Rebuilder! Keep praying, surround yourself with Godly women to encourage you, and get sound Biblical counsel (if needed). Your marriage is so worth it!
If God can do it for us, He can do it for you!
I’m super excited that John is coming with me to Mackinac Island next weekend. The Grand Hotel is one of John’s favorite places to go, and we’re both looking forward to a fun adventure together.
Now if I can just get rid of this flu and get my voice back!
Well that’s “what’s up” in my neck of the world. How ’bout you???
I would love to hear your favorite highlight this Fall so far! Fill me in please. 🙂
Have a super, joy-filled rest of your weekend! I thank God for you, my dear bloggy friend!!
Sweet blessings –
P.S. Watch for Monday’s post! I’ll get us caught up with our A to Z Memory Verses PLUS share another fun giveaway. 🙂
Cindy, I wish western Michigan were closer so I could join these events you’ve been at! God is good and gracious to take you each step into the lives of others who need to see faith and grace in real skin. May the fullness of God’s grace be in each event, each planning session, each bible study you minister in. Praying for you in these areas (really, I am!)
