Thanks for your kind words after sharing I’m in the midst of pretty challenging days. Prayer warriors, would you please lift my family in prayer? We desperately need God’s direction, intervention, and help. Thank you.♥
Hey Friends 🙂
Are you eagerly anticipating the “lazy days of summer”?
I’m not sure who coined that phrase, but that’s not how I describe the next three months at my home!
My days are filled with lots of kids, camps, carpools, cleaning, chaos and craziness. Anyone else?
Every day brings different schedules, opportunities and activities – and with 4 kids ages 9, 10, 11 and 18 – I’m learning I must be filled to the brim with patience, flexibility, and grace.
Thus the reason that I absolutely MUST spend time in Scripture everyday. God’s Word is my Rock in a summer season of long days, late nights, and lots of hustle and bustle.
I love how Beth Moore shares on her blog…
“…Summer is a great time to take off from school but it is NOT a great time to take off from the Scriptures. Three months out of an in-depth experience with God through His Word is plenty of time to find ourselves in a pit. No thanks. Let’s commit and hold one another accountable. The most steadfast victories are planned for in advance. I believe that with all my heart so consider this post our plan for summer V-I-C-T-O-R-Y. ” – Beth Moore
Yes, Beth! We want a summer V-I-C-T-O-R-Y too!
What is your Summer Victory plan?? Do you have a Summer Bible reading plan or study?
If you’ve not come up with a plan yet, here are a couple of ideas..
West Michigan friends, starting Monday, July 1st, my friend Julie and I are hosting a 5 week “Red Hot Faith” summer BIble Study. I’m so excited to be teaching in Grand Rapids again! Woo Hoo! There are a few slots left. More details here.
- Summer New Testament Bible Reading Plan. Go at your own pace here. Maybe invite a friend for accountability and discussion. Fun!
- Jennie Allen’s studies are perfect for meeting in living rooms in your neighborhood this summer.
She’s even hosting a huge giveaway of LOTS of different studies by LOTS of different authors. Check it out here.
Of course, we can’t talk about Summer Victory without mentioning memorizing Scripture.
If you don’t a scripture memory plan, maybe consider the memorizing A to Z style. I’d love to help you get started!
You’ve heard me say it before, but it’s absolutely true – my life has been transformed because my mind has been transformed – and this has come by a daily habit of reading and memorizing God’s Word.
How about you, my friends? What is your Summer Bible reading plan? How do you maintain your Bible reading in the midst of your summer schedule? Share with us please!!!
Thanks for stopping by *She Sparkles*! Here’s to a summer infuse with much love, laughter, victory and joy!
P.S. Linking up today with my friend Jen Ferguson and the beautiful SDG community. It’s her week for vlog posts, but my camera’s battery is broken. Bummer. Head her way to see her amazing community and their fun vlogs at www.findingheaventoday.com.
I’m so excited to be doing Red Hot Faith! I hope to have some friends join me 🙂 My summer plan is “less is more.” I’m taking a look at what I need less of in my life so that I can have more – more peace, more time, more energy, more of HIM!
Yes, be assured of our prayers for your family:) Love you so!
Awesome ideas! Stopping in from SDG have a wonderful week!
this is my first time in this place, and what a lovely place it is, full of such life and…well…sparkle! <3
I am on the hunt for something to study this summer. Thanks for the help.
Fondly,
Glenda
my new (yes another) church is having study once a week. and my summer schedule actually begins the day with MORE quiet time than the school year. i have leisure to read and cross reference and pray….BUT these are for me. not my kids. and we are bad to skip family devotions when we all get up at different times in the mornings. i will make a devotion guide for my kids today….
