Hey Friends!
What a FULL week this has been! In addition to all-day Aquinas College Parent Day, Middle School Open House, Elementary School Open House, back to school shopping, and more ~
I’m also in the midst of things like…..
- preparing for a full Fall Speaking Schedule
- adjusting to having a “bird leave the nest” (sniff sniff)
- journeying with friends wrestling with health concerns, unemployment issues, homelessness, family strife, and loss
….all while battling an asthma flair up, a dog who has now eaten 5 JARS of fish food, & three kids who have had one-too-many sleepovers! What a month!
Anyone else experiencing a little bit of “fullness” these days??
Somehow I don’t think is the “fullness” Jesus was referring to when He said in Him we would experience a FULL life in John 10:10!
How do we survive full, crazy days/seasons?
I am clinging to the words found in Hebrews 12:2 –
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…
When I take my eyes off of Jesus, and look at the circumstances, paper piles, invitations and TO DO lists around me, I easily get overwhelmed!
For today, I will choose to look Up! I will focus on JOY and GRATITUDE! I will not allow my circumstances to get me down!!
So here are the 5 Things (of Many!) that I am grateful for….
1. Jake’s Convocation Ceremony
We spent the day today with Jake on his last day before a weekend-long orientation. Aquinas College had a special ceremony where we said “not goodbye, but good luck”.
I’m super proud of our boy and can’t wait to see what God has planned for him during this new season (even though I miss him like crazy!)
2. We don’t have lice or fleas.
Nuff said! And I am grateful!
3. Fall Speaking Schedule
Y’all know how much I love sharing Jesus with others! I am super excited for the opportunities God has lined up for this fall! I’d love for you to join me if I’ll be nearby. You can check out my schedule here.
4. School Starts next week!
I sure love my kiddos, but it’s time, friends, it’s time! 🙂
During this emotional, meltdown season, I have been so super blessed with the most amazing friends ever! Women to pray with me. A bff who drops everything and immediately shows up with a hug, listening ear and latte! 🙂 Friends who send me cards and notes in the mail, offer free babysitting, listen to me ramble, share uplifting videos and songs, and affirm and acknowledge my loss.
I am blessed beyond measure and super grateful!
Sweet friends, in the midst of our crazy, FULL days – let’s STOP and reflect on the blessings that are surround us. What’s going on in your neck of the woods? 🙂
What are you thankful for these days? I would LOVE to hear from YOU!
Thanks for stopping by *She Sparkles*! May your weekend be FILLED to the BRIM with much joy, love, laughter, and wonderful family time.
I thank God for YOU!
I am thankful that I found Jesus and He is in my heart. How did I ever function without Him? Glad you had fun with your family, Cindy. See you soon.
Small world – my husband went to Aquinas and we visit there whenever we’re in town to see what new alumni stuff is in the bookstore! 🙂
As for thankfulness…I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a network of Christian sisters that help navigate me through tough times. I am thankful for a church that has a heart for missions. I, too, am thankful that school has started. I’m thankful for the miracle of my sweet little granddaughter. I am thankful for living in a country where we have the freedom to worship Jesus Christ! I am thankful for bloggers like you who help keep things real!
God bless you and your family!
