Hey Friends 🙂
Have you ever had a week filled with so much of God’s goodness that your mouth hurt from smiling so much?!
That was my week last week. Thank You, God!
Before I go into my launch of how God showed up during my birthday week BIG TIME, I’ll be honest and share I’ve been still been struggling.
- Wrestling with “stinking thinking.”
- Needing new coping skills.
- Wanting to be grown up and mature, and sick and tired of being pelted with discouragement and despair.
I’ve been crying out to God in prayer — especially as I headed into a week where fears and insecurities would be brought to the forefront. Again.
Not only did God answer my plea, He has lavished more love and grace on me than I ever deserve. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound….
Thursday Night was the Fiesta for Red Hot Faith!
My parents & my guy John rented out Sunshine Church and hosted the Fiesta of the year.
It was a super gorgeous day, so I was nervous about no one showing up, not to mention feeling insecure about sharing a Red Hot Faith teaching (on two huge screens, no less!) in front of my family members and friends.
As I was lamenting with one friend about no one showing up, she said, “Cindy, not only are people coming, they are excited about it! You have no idea how unbelievably loved you are.”
Boy was my friend was right about the excitement!
I couldn’t have asked for a better reception, and a fabulously fun time was had by all.
We played Red Hot Faith Bingo (you can too Bingo Icebreaker), showed a video clip, shared the story of many “praying down the tracks,” ate yummy chips and salsa, & took pics in the red-hot photo booth. Oh, and they surprised me and sang Happy Birthday to me too!
I don’t have all the pictures yet, except for the photo booth. But you’ll want to peek at them on my FB page here. So much fun!
Then Friday was my birthday. It almost seemed unfair to keep celebrating.
I enjoyed breakfast with a good friend, served hot lunch at my kids’ school (where I was serenaded by all the 5/6th graders. Boy did I turn red!), shared a latte with another friend, cheered for Manda at her soccer game, had a family party in the evening (with an amazing confetti cake made by my mom & my kiddos), and then a late night coffee run with Julie — complete with more confetti and noise makers. What an incredible day!
Lastly, on this amazing, whirlwind week, I’ve been overwhelmed and blessed by my amazing partners in ministry and their support. All around blog world, dear friends have shared the kindest responses about “Red Hot Faith.”
One of my favorites comes from a woman I met at a Red Hot Faith event a few weeks ago. She shares, “
Can I get a Woo Hoo?!
Would you please join me in praying that God would use this Bible study to turn hearts towards Him, and for His glory alone?
I was chatting with a friend last night, reflecting on the fullness of my week, and shared, “Most importantly, I just want Jesus to be KNOWN. It is so not about me, about me being known, or about anything else… It’s all about Jesus. That’s it.”
This is my heart’s desire — it’s all for Him! 🙂
Whew! What a whirlwind week! What have you been up to, my friend?
What has God been teaching you? When was the last time you experienced a miracle in your mess? I would love to hear from you!
