Hey Friends –
Anyone else having a hard time believing Summer Vacation has come to an end?!
Last year I started a new tradition to “mark the end of summer vacation” with my gang.
I wanted their last day to be memorable and fun, and personally, I wanted to enjoy my kiddos ~ so I decided to host a “Last Day of Summer Vacation – Mystery Day!”
We had so much fun I decided to try it again this year!
I started our “Mystery Day morning” by giving the kids a fun poem that filled them in on what time to be ready and what to pack.
(If you’re interested, I could send you a copy of my poem. It’s cheesy, but it worked).
We left at 9:00 AM and the kids had NO idea where we were going or what to expect! It was great!
I had different clues that I had written ahead of time, and I had planned it so different people would give the kids the clues throughout the day.
It was so much fun!
Our day included….
**Breakfast with Grandma StilleYou should have seen their eyes get huge when Grandma walked in the restaurant!
She also had a clue to take them on their next destination….
** A visit to Mrs. Noordewier’s
(Manda’s 4th grade teacher & Benj’s good friend’s house).
Yes, Benj was able to bring a friend this year. We needed even numbers for our adventure!
Mrs. Noordewier’s clue let the kids know to get comfortable….
My kids have never been to Michigan Adventure before – so they were beyond excited to be at this amazing amusement park/waterpark. What a blast!
Of course, the surprises continued when our good friend (and my brother’s girlfriend) Julie and her daughter Berlyn met us there too! Woo Hoo!
The best part of my day was spending lots of quality time with my gang and fully enjoying our last day of Summer Vacation!
Here’s a few snapshots of our Mystery Day together…
If you’re looking for a fun way to add laughter, structure and tons of memory making to your day, why not give the Mystery Day a try! 🙂

Love it!! We went to MI Adventure a week ago – it was my first time going too! The kids loved it. I think we need to try a mystery day. Hmm…so many fun ideas. Thanks Cindy!
What a fun idea! Makes me wish my girls were young so we could do the same. 😀
