If you’ve spent any time here at my blog *She Sparkles*—you know I enjoy giving away books, DVD’s, & resources that have personally impacted me. I feel like Oprah—I love it!
I’m thrilled about today’s giveaway Hoodwinked by Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk. I’m super excited about this book for a number of reasons!
First, you may remember, Karen is a good friend of mine. We first met in an airport after the She Speaks Conference in 2009, and since then, we’ve become prayer partners and cheerleaders for one another.
(Hopefully I’ll soon say the same thing about Ruth. I’m speaking at a conference at a church where her husband is the past this spring. I can’t wait! 🙂 )
Friends, Karen and Ruth are the real deal.
Not to mention, they are both gifted writers, bloggers, and communicators. If you don’t know them already, what are you waiting for? You should!
Get to know Ruth at www.thebettermom. com and Karen at www.karenehman.com.
Together, Karen and Ruth have written a new book called Hoodwinked: Ten Myths Moms Believe and Why We All Need to Knock It Off.
I’ll let them briefly tell you all about it:
Can I just say, you’ll love this new book Hoodwinked!
Their new resource is practical, authentic, hilarious, heart-warming, Biblical, and fun!
Karen and Ruth write as if they are an encouraging friend coming alongside of you — more of an empathetic, caring sister, not as a judgmental perfect mom.
My only warning: once you start reading you won’t want to put it down, and will want to be a copy for all your mom friends. You’ve been warned! (Christmas shopping made easy!)
Karen and Ruth also do an excellent job of weaving real-life stories throughout the book. Have you ever noticed stories really help make truths stick? And you may or may not find one of my personal mom stories (a story I’ve never shared publically) woven within this new resource.
Sweet friend, you will love Hoodwinked! But you don’t have to just take my word for it. Look what others are saying as well:
- Hoodwinked reads like an encouraging letter from a friend. It is full of grace, biblical wisdom, and inspiration. Many books on motherhood leave me wondering if I’m doing it all wrong. Karen and Ruth are bravely transparent and meet us moms right where we are. This book gives us the hope and encouragement we need in the midst of weary days. – Courtney Joseph, author and blogger at WomenLivingWell.org
- Karen and Ruth understand what it is to battle the voices of guilt, anxiety, and inadequacy that plague many mothers who want to give their best to their children. In this book they share life changing truths that all mothers can grab hold of, not just to survive the journey of motherhood but to thrive in confidence and joy. – Chrystal Evans Hurst, coauthor of Kingdom Woman
- Motherhood is not a trick or trap—it’s a calling. In our culture, moms are constantly sent mixed messages. This powerful book will help mothers walk in the truth of the gospel! –Kristen Welch, blogger at Wearethatfamily.com
