Have you ever found yourself in a situation of disappointment, discouragement, and maybe even despair?
In fact one date in particular brought up so much pain, even seeing the date made me want to run for my covers — literally.
May 1, 1999. A day I had dreamed about all my life.
My wedding day.
In the beginning, each day leading up to May 1 filled me with sheer joy, happiness, and downright delight. I found a perfect, sparkling wedding dress, selected six beautiful bridesmaids, reserved the church, booked the reception hall, and yes, of course, I had my handsome prince. I loved scribbling “May 1, 1999” in my prayer book as I thanked God in advance for my soon-to-be wonderful wedding day.
Then came my fiancé’s accident.
No more wedding.
No more beautiful dress.
No more handsome prince.
With one phone call, and the words, “I’m sorry Cindy, he’s gone….” my “happily ever after” dreams were shattered and all I was left with was a broken, devastated heart.
Life can be hard, can’t it?
Truth be told, sometimes life can be utterly painful and suffocating.
Sweet friend, when the pressures of life intensify, how do we withstand the heat? And why would a loving God ask us to endure seasons of trials, tests, disappointments and despair?
I had the chance to explore these questions in my Bible Study, Red Hot Faith. And guess what? Between now and Saturday, May 21st at 11:59 PM you can watch the video teaching for FREE thanks to my publisher. Woo Hoo!
So let’s travel to meet “Master Goldsmith” Ayhan Usta in his goldsmith shop at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul Turkey, and together we’ll discover the lessons to be learned from within the refiner’s fire.
