Hey Friends –
OK I’ll admit it — I’m frazzled.
I didn’t think it was noticeable. I’ve been praying, practicing my ABC’s, and trying to remain calm, cool, & collected.
I thought it was working. Sort of, anyway. Until John sent me an email, and he ended with, “I don’t like to see you frazzled like yesterday.”
Shoot. Is it that obvious?
Why am I so frazzled, you wonder?
It’s my final edits day on the Red Hot Faith project! Yikes!

Red Hot Faith Participant’s Guide
The Red Hot Faith Participant’s Guide and Leader’s Guidebooks are back from the designer (yay! they are so colorful and fun!) — and the finishing line is fast approaching. (You won’t even believe it — look here) Only God!
I have one last day to go over the material to make any final changes. Tomorrow morning the guides go back to my editor, and my writing work is complete.
At the same time, I’m watching all the Red Hot Faith teaching footage, which corresponds with the guides. Viewing myself on video over and over again.
Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t think of anything harder than to watch yourself on screen in this way. It definitely brings all of my fears, insecurities, and crazy thoughts to the surface.
The poor video editor. I keep sending her emails apologizing for my quirks, crazy smile, and mistakes. Her response? “Cindy, I didn’t see any mistakes. I fixed them. And I don’t notice any of quirks you’re mentioning.”
I think that’s code for: Cindy, you are crazy, step away from the computer and go walk your dog or something.
Thus the reason I posted on FB today…Within moments my cell phone beeped and I received this text from a very special girlfriend. It read –
I don’t have to tell you how that text message hit me, right? I cried like a baby. What beautiful, Truth-filled words my weary, insecure soul needed to be reminded of today.
And then I thought of you, my friend.
Who is speaking Truth into your life? Are you allowing the “crazy head” thoughts to creep in, or are your reminding yourself of the Truth of who God says YOU are?
Please say you’re not letting fear get in the way of your hopes and dreams? Or do you also need a fresh reminder to “Do your thing with God, lady.”
Go back and read that text again, but this time allow the words to be FOR YOU. (My friend won’t mind, trust me.)
Start with, “Don’t you dare spend one minute tearing yourself down yourself” and keep going. Because it’s true, friend.
You are amazing.
He is amazing.
Today I’m thankful for sweet Truth-speaking friends in the midst of my frazzledness and fears.
How about you? What are you thankful for today?
Thanks for stopping by *She Sparkles*!
Best text ever from a friend to you. This person knows you well. Love, love, love hearing you speak and do does everyone else.
Oh Courtney, you are such a sweet encourager! Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you?! 🙂
Boy! this blogpost is right on time! I’ve been feeling like there’s just no getting it all done or even some of it done well. And that text. If phones spoke truth like that everyday, we’d all be better off, wouldn’t we!
