Welcome, friend!
If this is your first visit — you can start from the beginning here. Thanks for joining us on this faith-filled journey!
Hopefully by now you have a “Fire Up Your Faith” notebook, a pen, and you are ready to prayerfully get to work!
Let’s dig in to Key # 3 —
Remember your Purpose
Have you ever wondered what God’s purpose is for your life?
I sure have. Many, many times.
My hardest season was when I was at home with my 4 kiddos — 3 of them in diapers.
Everyday was: change a diaper, change a diaper, change a diaper, change bed sheets.
Again.
Feed a baby, feed a baby, feed a toddler, feed my hockey player — oh shoot, John’s on his way home. He’s going to want to eat too. Ahhh!
Again.
Can I be really honest? I questioned whether God was disappointed in me, had forgotten me, or had left me all alone to sink in the crazy fast-paced, never-ending, exhausting season of mothering young children.
My faith became lukewarm, and my joy was depleted.
“God, what is my purpose? Where are You?” became my cry.
I wonder if you can relate? My guess is I’m not alone.
In fact, Rick Warren’s popular book “The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?” sold 30 million copies by the year 2007. Did you catch that? 30 MILLION — and that was 7 years ago. Wow. That’s a lot of people wondering about their purpose.
So what is our purpose? What on Earth are we here for?
Thankfully to find that answer, we don’t need a book, or a magazine, or to search on FB, Pinterest, or Google.
We must go to God’s Promises.
As we look to the Bible, we find our purpose is to…
Our Purpose
- know Him
- believe Him
- glorify Him
- be His witness
…even in the midst of our mundane, ordinary, everyday lives.
Sweet friends, God’s purpose for us is to look for ways to testify of His love, grace, and power to this lost and hurting world — while we are at home, school, the grocery story, Starbucks, work — you name it!
And I believe as we spend time up the mountain with Him in His Presence — we can’t help but share His love and kindness with others!
I’ll often say to my kids “After what Jesus has done in my life, I can’t NOT talk about Him! I just can’t do it!”
Now do I get this right all the time? Of course not.
It’s still so easy for me to get caught up in “the Kingdom of me” — my To Do list, my schedule, my stuff, my self — and I’m afraid I miss opportunities all the time. Ugh.
But this I know:
We have purpose in the midst of the mundane, and as we share His love —whether with our words or with our actions —our faith lives will be fired up and burn brighter than ever!
Sweet friend, let’s say NO MORE to lackluster, lukewarm living, and instead ask God to rekindle our faith and use us to shine bright in the lives of others!
What do we have to lose?
Today’s Challenge: Day 13 of our 31 Days.
1. Grab your notebook, jot today’s date, and then, if you are comfortable, write out a prayer to God asking Him to ignite you with fresh faith. Reflect on today’s post. Any new insights?
Do you ever question what is your purpose? What gets in the way of “being His witness” in your daily life? How might you share His love with someone else today?
2. Look up for following verses and note what each says about our purpose as Christ followers.
- Isaiah 32:2
- Matthew 5:16
- Matthew 10:42
- Acts 1:8
How do you see yourself carrying out these responsibilities? What gets in your way?
3. Print off the Lukewarm Checklist. What stood out to you from this exercise?
What is one thing you can do today to leave lukewarm living behind and pursue a fired up faith?
Share with us in the comments section please!
4. If you have a moment, sing along with this “Use Me” song and let it be your prayer this week —
Thanks so much for stopping by 31 Days to Fire Up Your Faith!
May God use you to share His love today in a personal and specific way!
Sweet blessings

Thank you for this Challenge…I’m trying keep up with it while doing another study also, so thankful that I am caught up now.
Today, this is what I’m taking out of this: I know that HE is my shelter & refuge! Others need to see my light so that they Glorify the Father. Give and the reward will not go unnoticed! And HE gives me power so by HIS witness.
Thank you again for all you do! Lord USE me TODAY!
Serving HIM even when it’s tough!
I’m praying that I can get to know my neighbors better. This is especially difficult for me with the language barrier. Asking God for creative ways to bridge this barrier.
The verse from Matt 10:42 hit me. Even giving a glass of cold water to someone wil be rewarded in God’s eyes. I realize that can’t be an excuse to just do small things, but small things do count! This is what we are called to do…. spread his love and compassion in a world that thinks only of themselves. Give a smile, help someone with something… anything! Then when we are called to do something bigger, it will be that much easier to do.
